That water still exists in the atmosphere of mars is evidenced by the ice crystal fog which is seem in the Mariner’s Valley in this vertical orbiter view. This fog formed during the Martian night. The local time in the photograph is around 10:30 a.m., and the ice crystals are now sublimating as they are warmed by the morning light.
