This document lists the change history for the developer-level Wind-US documentation. Note that access to the developer-level documentation is restricted to registered Wind-US users. Contact Dennis.A.Yoder@nasa.gov for more information.

Call-tree diagrams are no longer current, and will not be updated until a more automated method is found. The "Called By" and "Calls" details listed for each subroutine should be correct. If you find any errors or dead links, please report them.

  • "Volume 2 - Code Structure", containing the high-level structure diagrams, the description of the solution phases, and the detailed calling trees
  • "Volume 3 - Parameters and Variables", containing lists and definitions of Fortran parameters and common block variables
  • "Volume 4 - Program Units", containing lists and descriptions of modules, statement functions, and subprograms

• Eliminated most usage of images and "words" for equation elements throughout the HTML version of the Wind-US Developer's Reference, in favor of the appropriate HTML character entities. E.g., instead of using a GIF image or the word "rho" to represent the Greek letter rho, the character entity ρ is used instead. Images were originally used because HTML browsers typically didn't support character entities for many of the symbols that were used. Current-generation browsers, however, are much better. Mozilla Firefox 1.0.7 supports all the character entities used in the CGNS documentation, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 supports all but a couple. See the list of standard HTML 4.0 character entities for Symbols and Greek Letters to see how they are displayed in your browser.

This includes the new generic routines added in the update to version 1.47, which incorporated many Fortran 90 features into the code. Several more updates still remain to be done, however, including the Development Environment, Code Structure, and Memory Management sections.
• Removed the separate Subprogram Basics document. This was becoming more and more difficult to maintain, especially with the recent addition of the new Fortran 90 features. If anyone especially misses this document, let me know.

• Updates for consistency with Wind-US 1.37. Note that the Wind-US code is now almost entirely free-form Fortran 90. (The main exceptions are the ADF, PVM, and libcfd library routines.)

  Developers need to be aware of this change, in particular for comment lines and multi-line statements. Comment lines must start with "!", not "c". Put "&" at the end of lines being continued, and no "continuation character" in column 6 of the next line. (Exception - if a keyword or character string is being split between lines, an "&" is needed at the start of the next line. But try hard to avoid this.)
