BOYLES LAW LAB



  1. Set up apparatus as shown.

  2. Open the valve and pull the plunger up so the end is at 10cc.

     

  3. Close the valve.

     

  4. Place 4N into the weight can and read the volume of air in the chamber

     

  5. Record the volume to the nearest tenth of a c.c. in the data chart.

     

  6. Add 4 more newtons to the weight can and record the new volume.

     

  7. Repeat adding 4N at a time and recording volume. Continue up to 56N.

     

  8. Draw a graph plotting pressure in N vs. Volume in cc using a spread sheet or graphing computer program.

     

  9. State Boyles Law as determined through your data analysis.
