Water Quality and Pollution in Relation to Topography

Due to different topographical features, the amount of pollution in a particular body of water may be different than in others. Much related to runoff, the amount of pollution that may be added to a water body can vary. For example, if the body of water is located near to industrial landmarks, most likely the pollution levels will be higher. This is due to waste being produced by many factories. Furthermore, if the water body is in a highly developed area, pollution levels will also be higher there. However, in rural areas, pollution may come from runoff containing fertilizers and pesticides. Pollution affects the overall water quality in many ways, but listed below are some of the main ones it influences.
