• reinforce five paragraph compare and contrast essay format
• practice browsing the World Wide Web
• introduce construction of a home page
• reinforce descriptive and expository writing for an intended audience

Estimated Time

• twelve class sessions

Outcomes

• five paragraph essay comparing and contrasting the home pages of high schools from two different states
• home page for the high school with links to pages created by collaborative groups of students
  

Resources

• at least one computer with Netscape for each two students
• Web editing software or knowledge of HTML
  

Assessment

• holistic rubric for essay
• holistic rubric for homepage
