SCARO - GOBI DESERT, MONGOLIA
My name is Scaro. I am a nomad from the Gobi Desert. I live with my brother Genghis and my pet desert hamsters, Derek and Menda, in a ger or round felt tent. We travel with my family's herd of fat-tailed sheep through the most horrifying desert on Earth. This is where only the bravest and most skilled survive. I am ready and qualified for the resettlement journey being proposed. I work with the herd and can heal them when they are sick.

The Gobi Desert is a lonely place because there are only three people per square mile. Many people herd animals to survive. Our lives are focused on moving the sheep so that they have food. Sheep, goats, cattle, and two-humped camels migrate 120 miles annually in search of pastures and water.

Despite its harshness, the desert is beautiful. Gobi mornings are like a picturesque dream. Today, the sunrise takes my breath away.
