This is a close-up of the screen rotation and translation controls in the lower-left corner of the MADCAP graphics screen. It consists of a "control handle", basically a set of x-y-z axes, with the origin in the middle of the area. The x axis is horizontal, the y axis is vertical, and the z axis points out of and into the screen. Rotation and translation controls are located on the axes, with additional controls surrounding them.
At the ends of the x and y axes are arrows used for translation in those directions. Between the origin and the tips of the x and y axes are "handles" used for positive and negative rotations about the axes. Four hexagonal buttons clustered around the origin are the corresponding controls for the z axis. The translation controls are oriented horizontally, and labeled +z and -z. The rotation controls are oriented vertically, and labeled +z and -z with a circular arrow.
In the upper left corner are buttons labeled "BODY" and "SCREEN" used to control whether translations and rotations are done relative to body or screen coordinates.
In the upper right corner are buttons labeled "ZOOM IN" and "ZOOM OUT" that may be used to zoom in the z direction in screen coordinates, even when translations and rotations are relative to body coordinates.
In the lower left corner is a coordinate triad, with axes labeled X, Y, and Z.
And in the lower right corner is the heading "SENSITIVITY", followed by the current sensitivity setting ("S=1.00000"), and four sensitivity control buttons labeled "0.5X", "0.8X", "1.25X", and "2.0X".
