Objective:
After reading
an explanation from a NASA Web-based textbook, you will demonstrate an
understanding of the text by labeling and describing the functions of
the parts of an airplane.
Beginner's Guide to
Aerodynamics is a "textbook" of information prepared at NASA Glenn Research
Center to help you better understand how airplanes work. Click

Guide Index to access the list of slides. Open the slide called
Airplane Parts Definitions
(with text) and read the explanation of the parts of an airplane and
their functions. For more information on airplane parts and their functions
refer to the following slides:
Fuselage,
Wing Geometry,
Jet Engines,
Flaps and Slats,
Spoilers,
Elevator,
Aileron, and
Rudder (with text).
Then using the information provided at Airplane
Parts Activity, complete the problems designed to demonstrate your
knowledge of basic airplane parts and their functions.
