Small-scale Adhesion Test Fixture
This system characterizes the force-displacement behavior when mating and de-mating two samples together. The amount of force required to compress two samples together and the adhesion developed upon separation are recorded. The system is fully automated and accounts for different sample thicknesses, velocity profiles, and material configurations.

  • Characterizes the force-displacement behavior upon mating two surfaces
  • Quantifies the adhesion between two surfaces upon separation
  • Custom velocity profiles are easily configured
  • Displacements are measured using an Omega LD610-25 displacement sensor with in-line signal conditioner
    • Displacement range: 1 in.
    • Accuracy: +/- 3%
  • Force measurements are quantified using an Interface SMT1 load cell
    • 56 lbf capacity with overload protection
    • Accuracy is 0.037 lbf
