Medium-Scale Flow Test Fixtures
Five flow measurement systems are capable of very accurately quantifying the leakage of any non-flammable gas through seals and permeable materials. Tests are conducted at ambient temperature, and leak rate is quantified along with the associated measurement error. A wide range of leak rates can be measured, from those associated with material permeation to gross leakage levels. At each leakage level the accuracy of the reported value can be adjusted by customizing the system’s volume and the test duration. One of the five systems can be used in conjunction with the Medium-scale Actuated Compression Fixture to evaluate seal performance while simultaneously conducting compression and adhesion tests at refrigerated and elevated temperatures.

  • Highly sensitive leakage measurement system uses ideal gas law behaviors to determine pressure decay-type mass loss with an associated measurement error
  • Dual-RTD temperature probes are accurate to 0.4C (0.7F) each
  • Dual-pressure transducers are accurate to 0.05% each
  • Any non-flammable gas or gas mixture can be used as the test medium
  • Seal test specimens ranging in size to 12.5 in. in diameter
