This answer is incorrect.
This problem requires that you understand that from each board you will get 4 pieces 3 feet long. Therefore if each board will give you 4 pieces then you need to divide 1,500 by 4 to get the right answer.
12 / 3 = 4 (3 foot sections per board)
1500 / 4 = 375 (boards required)
Now let us try another one.
Mary needs 2500 pieces of cloth each 4 yards long. Cloth is sold in 16 yards lengths, how many pieces of cloth will Mary need to buy and cut into 4 yard pieces?
