Sorry

The answer is incorrect.

Follow these rules when rounding numbers:

  1. If the next number is less than 5, then the answer remains unchanged; 12.584 becomes 12.58.

  2. If the next number is greater than or equal to 5, then the answer is increased by one; 12.585 becomes 12.59.

  3. If the next number is 9, then you increase it to 10. You write down the zero and increase the number to the left by one; 12.597 becomes 12.60.

Now in this case:

Look at the number 12.5861

Now you go to the number to the right of 8 and see that it is a 6.

Using the rule above which states that if the next number is greater than or equal to 5, then the answer is increased by one, you would get 12.59, which is the answer.

Now let's try another one.

Round 10.5849 to the nearest hundredth.
