These Are The Final Results.

Here is some statistical data.

  • Cuyahoga Watershed is 813 square miles
  • The river is over 100 miles long
  • 37 tributaries flow a total of 286 miles to the river
  • Cuyahoga means Crooked River
  • Caught on fire in 1936 and in 1969
  • It has 85 bridges
    Water Quality Index

    Total Solids 3300mg/l 2200 0% .07 0%
    Overall Water Quality Index 59.1%

The overall quality rating of 59.1% is fair meaning that there is a lot of improvement to be made since 90% and better is good to excellent. However this is an improvement since the Cuyahoga caught on fire approximately 20 years ago.

The above information was compiled from the tests conducted at the area of the Cuyahoga River in Peninsula Ohio on May 5th 1997 at approximately 12:00 noon. The conditions were sunny and mild with an air temperature of 13 degrees C.

I did the dissolved oxygen test with Amy Sasala my lab partner, remember to always wear goggles when working with dangerous river water.
