FoilSim Background
-
Graphical user interface allows real time changes of various
parameters of the airfoil (such as airspeed, angle of attack,
thickness, and camber) or the pitch (altitude, speed, and
spin)
-
Tom Benson, NASA scientist, created the computational codes
and Unix interface used in FoilSim for college level
applications
-
NASA Glenn Learning Technologies Project worked with Tom to
develop a high school interface because of a need to introduce
basic aerodynamics to high school students
