Wind Tunnel Test Section with Airfoil Mounting Options

Models can be mounted in a wind tunnel in several different ways. On the left portion of the slide we show an airfoil mounted on a sting which passes through the the floor of the tunnel. On the right portion of the slide we show an airfoil which is wall mounted on a spar which spans the tunnel. Either configuration could be attached to a strain gage for the measurement of forces. The sting configuration could produce more interference effects on the measurements.
