Pre-Conference Activity Worksheet (HS): Scale Model of the Solar System

Use the Planetary Fact Sheet (http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/planetary/factsheet/index.html) to find each planet's diameter and distance from the sun and complete the worksheet. Calculate the conversion factor by dividing the scale model size of the sun by the actual diameter of the sun. Use this conversion factor to calculate all of the scale model values.
