After these practice exercises, BJ feels fine. Pete looks slightly flushed, suggesting that he may be experiencing airsickness. The symptoms of airsickness vary and a person may get all or some of them. These symptoms include: nausea, feeling very hot, dizziness, and a headache. After a few moments, Pete feels normal again.
BJ, Pete and Dave have completed the practice flights and are on their way to Lima, Peru, to pick up Fuerte. The flight is an uneventful one.
They fly south from Los Angeles over the Pacific Ocean. They cross the equator passing over Columbia, South America. When they are about 200 miles away from Lima, Peru, Dave asks BJ to look at the map to find the landing strip. They are flying through clouds, so visibility is low.
The map shows a place marked X, but nothing that says "landing strip." The flight plan indicates that the landing strip is at 13o, 31 minutes south latitude, 77o, 58 minutes west longitude. They are going to have to plot a course on the map to get there.
