Burrows and Kurkov Supersonic Mixing/Combustion

This figure is described in the text below
Figure 1. Experiment test section schematic

Introduction

This case examines mixing and finite-rate hydrogen-air chemical reactions occuring in Mach 2.44 vitiated air. The length of the combustor section is 35.6 cm. The zero of the x-coordinate is located at the hydrogen injection step and the y-coordinate at the bottom wall at the exit plane. The experimental schematic, from Burrows and Kurkov, is presented in Figure 1.

Computational Studies

Study Category Person Comments
Study #1 Unit Teryn DalBello Frozen species mixing, Wind version 5.116
Study #2 Unit/Validation Manan Vyas Reacting, Wind-US version 4.107

NOTE: Wind is structured-only version of the code. The last release of Wind code was version 5 and is NOT supported/updated and superseded by Wind-US. Wind-US supports both, structured and unstructured meshes. While some files, options, and keywords in studies performed with Wind code might still be valid, please exercise caution and refer to the regularly updated Wind-US documentation for current options and keywords.
