The TDC convertors are undergoing vibration testing at GRC's Structural Dynamics Laboratory. Below are two data plots from initial testing as well as MPEG videos of the convertors running during the vibration tests. Additional information and data will be forthcoming as it becomes available.

Download an mpeg player.

Tandem_Axial.mpg (2Meg)

The Stirling TDC's undergoing sine sweep vibration testing with an 11 Hz mounting structure. Watch the assembly shake during the test from a bird's eye view of the setup. The engines ran fine throughout vibration testing.

36Hz_Mt_sine_sweep2.mpg (0.4Meg)

The Stirling TDC's undergoing sine sweep testing. This is a side view showing both engines installed on the vibration table.

36Hz_Mt_sine_sweep1.mpg (1.3Meg)

The Stirling TDC's undergoing sine sweep testing. This is a close up side view of one of the engines during testing.
