TDC's #5 & #6

This data is for TDCs #5 and #6, tuned for 650C heater temperature and 120C cold end temperature.

The two TDCs are operating as a dynamically balanced opposed pair, and are connected electrically to one another through a single controller, they therefore operate at the same alternator output voltage. Due to slight manufacturing differences between #5 and #6, they operate at slightly different piston amplitudes when at the same alternator output voltage. The difference in piston amplitude vs. output voltage is reflected in the data.

For the Variable Piston Stroke Test data, at any particular pair of heater head and cold end temperatures, the data point at the largest piston amplitude represents the TDC operating at the voltage per the TDC controller, as delivered by STC. These data points should correlate with the performance maps presented in GRC Test Report 002, November, 2000.

The Data is formatted as Microsoft Excel 97 files. The data is preliminary and is subject to change. Missing values will be filled in as they become available. Please check this web site periodically for updates.
