The Handbook (including CD/DVD) is restricted under ITAR (International
Traffic in Arms Regulations). It is available only to US citizens
who have a need for the material. To receive a copy you will have to
sign and return a form that verifies:

It is intended only for people working in the space mechanisms field. We cannot accommodate requests from people outside this field. We cannot provide any part of the Handbook to a citizen of any foreign country without an export license from the United States State Department. We must verify that each request is legitimate. If you are a student, please have your professor request the Handbook. If you do not work for a recognizable space enterprise, please give a reference that we can verify. If we cannot verify, we will not send the Handbook. |
We have a limited supply of the book and CD/DVD. Please ask for both only if you have a real need. If you have colleagues at your company who want this Handbook, please try to share. You are free to copy the disk or share it via a secure server, so long as you do not give it to foreign nationals or a foreign company.
We are preparing an updated Reference Guide for release on DVD in 2008. We are currently sending out an interim DVD that includes some additional reports. Material from the interim copy is indexed in three different places. The published edition will have a single integrated index.
We are saving the last few copies of the 2-CD set for people who cannot read
a DVD. If you cannot read a DVD, please specify on the form that you want
the CDs.
Space Mechanisms Reference Guide UpdateWe are working on an update for the Space Mechanisms Handbook and Reference Guide CD that we expect to release in 2008. If your paper was published by a technical society, please make sure you still have the right to release it to NASA. If you have material to contribute, please contact Fred.Oswald_AT_nasa.gov. |
