As part of the mitigation for the demolition of this National Historic Landmark, NASA and the City of Cleveland produced a variety of written materials to document the historic accomplishments that took place at the RETF. To read more about the mitigation project click here. The following documents were completed for the mitigation of the RETF:

• The brief history of RETF.
  
• A peer-reviewed historic text titled, IDEAS INTO HARDWARE: A History of the Rocket Engine Test Facility at the NASA Glenn Research Center, by Dr. Virginia Dawson (file size approx. 2 MB). This text details the experimental history of the facility through the eyes of the engineers and scientists who worked there. Dr. Dawson’s text can be viewed on-line or downloaded in *.pdf format.
  
• Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) documentation, completed by Hardlines Design Company. This documentation includes detailed text about the overall context of the RETF and the individual buildings that made up the complex. Eleven drawings of the complex and its buildings are also included. All documentation can be viewed on-line or downloaded in a *.pdf format.
