This answer is incorrect.
For this problem you need to know that the perimeter of a rectangle is 2(l + w), where l = length and w = width. You can see in the formula that the length and the width are added together and then multiplied by 2. Since you are looking for a perimeter of 24 inches the first thing to do is divide that by 2. So you are looking for two sides that add up to 12. The only answer that does this is number 3, 9 inches and 3 inches.
