In order to see the connections between science and mathematics, we utilized a series of experiments where students would see hands on the process through which mathematics helps construct meaning from scientific data. Students used available technology to gather and process data for speed and accuracy. Graphing calculators, Calculator Based Learning (CBL), computer interface, probes and computer were used. In each of the experiments, the data they had gathered would then be studied using mathematical methods. They were seeing their own data being taken to the next level of scientific inquiry, and finding that mathematics was an integral part of understanding the physcial world.
