C-130 History

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a turboprop powered, low-speed, transport plane. Turbine engines are used to turn the four propellers of this aircraft. This airplane was used during the Viet Nam conflict to deliver men and supplies to isolated locations. An extremely versatile aircraft, one version was outfitted with side-mounted machine guns and a 105 mm cannon. The C-130 was also used as a tanker aircraft.
