COMBUSTION DIAGNOSTICS

Diagnostics - Figure 5

Quantitative multi-scalar Raman measurements above a premixed hydrogen-air flame at 10 atm. Raman scattering raw data is processed using the cross-talk compensated calibration matrix developed in the HPGB facility. The points are the Raman measurements and the lines represent chemical equilibrium at the measured temperature (from both the vibrational N2 temperature and rotational H2 temperature obtained through Raman spectroscopy) and the measured flow rates. Note the excellent agreement between the measurements and chemical equilibrium prediction. Most importantly, note that the graph is labeled in actual units of number density in molecules per cm3 and temperature in Kelvin.
