Rather, sensor arrays are necessary. The formation of an array of the sensors discussed above will detect hydrogen, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and oxygen. These gases are detected using three different platforms: Schottky diodes, resistors, and electrochemical cells. Each platform gives different information on the surrounding environment.
