Capabilities
  • Destructive analysis for total carbon/sulfur, and nitrogen/oxygen, of inorganic solid or powdered materials, including metals, alloys, carbides, nitrides, and oxides
  • Accuracy and precision better than 1% relative
  • Carbon detection range <1 ppm to 100 %, Sulfur range <1 ppm to 35% on a 1 gram sample
  • Nitrogen detection range 0.1 ppm to 50 %, Oxygen range 0.1 ppm to 10% on a 1 gram sample
Sample Requirements
  • 1-2 grams required for each analyzer
  • Solid materials should be cut to about 1/16 inch thickness on a water-cooled cutoff machine
  • Samples will be surface abraded, cleaned, and degreased by lab prior to analysis
