Description of fig1.gif
ICAN is the Integrated Composite Analyzer written in JAVA.
This picture is a graphical representation of the usage of ICAN/JAVA.
It contains the data flow showing:
- constituent materials combining to form a ply,
- plies combining to form a laminate,
- the laminate being used in a finite element model,
- the finite element model being used to analyze some item of equipment
(usually an airplane or rocket part),
- and the results of such analysis broken down to see where to modify
the laminate, ply, and constituent materials data.
This is an iterative process to obtain the best laminate materials possible.
