Low-pressure compressor water injection improved specific fuel consumption by 4 percent, reduced nitrogen oxides by over 45 percent, and reduced turbine rotor inlet temperature by almost 450 °F. Combustor water injection increased specific fuel consumption by 2 percent, reduced nitrogen oxides by 50 percent, and reduced turbine rotor inlet temperature by about 80 °F.
