We see ourselves as the customer's first choice in NASA for highly innovative and cost effective solutions to research challenges in optical measurement systems design and application, space flight electronics design and cutting edge non-destructive evaluation.
We conduct research in minimally-intrusive optical measurement systems and nondestructive evaluation science. We advance the state-of-the-art in optical instrumentation to provide new measurement capabilities for aerospace propulsion testing LABORATORIES, develop new optical components for aerospace flight, design advanced electro-optic circuits for space exploration and develop nondestructive measurement systems for propulsion health monitoring and material characterization. Advanced data processing, micro-optics, quantum sensing and nanoscale technologies are developed and used as appropriate. Data from our systems is used to help designers understand the fundamental physics of new systems, to validate computational and life models, and to prepare for human/robotic exploration. This data leads to improved designs, increased safety and security and reduced design cycle times for many of the core technologies developed at NASA Glenn Research Center.
