NASA Glenn Research Center
TO: Glenn Employees, On-site Contractors, NASA Exchange
andCleveland, Ohio June 14, 2000
Resident Personnel FROM: 0100/Director SUBJECT: Employee Suggestion Program (This message has been Posted to the GRC Internal Web Page.) Glenn has always benefited greatly from the ideas and suggestions of its employees. It goes without saying that as part of an Agency whose success is very much dependent on creativity and voluntarism, managers at Glenn have always valued the good judgment and resourcefulness of its employees. With the passage of the Incentive Awards Act in 1954, Federal agencies have had the authority to recognize Federal employees who have contributed to the efficiency and economy or other improvement of Government operations. The Employee Suggestion Program here at Glenn is over 30 years old. I am pleased to inform you that this year we are placing renewed emphasis on Glenn's Employee Suggestion Program to encourage more of you to look for and suggest ways to improve operations, customer service, and cost effectiveness at Glenn. I strongly encourage all Glenn employees to participate in the Employee Suggestion Program. Based on the value of the suggestion, an award of up to $7,500 may be granted. Employees who submit an eligible suggestion will also receive a $5 certificate for a one-time purchase at the Cafeteria or Exchange Store. Likewise, evaluators who return evaluations in a timely manner, will also receive a $5 certificate. Eligible suggestions should be submitted on an Ideas at Work form (NASA C-9034) and sent to the Awards Office at M.S. 500-314. It is important to use the current version of the form, which is available on the Glenn Electronic Forms Page at http://ltid.grc.nasa.gov/Eforms/InformedWebPages/home.htm. If you have any questions or comments about the Program, please contact Terry Ross at extension 3-8550, or Jennifer Cyrill at extension 3-2848. Your ideas are valuable.
