2001 Great Lakes Regional Robotics Competition Results

NASA Glenn Research Center sponsored 4 teams in the Great Lakes Regional Robotics Competition held on March 22 - 24  at Eastern Michigan University

 

Beachwood High School was awarded a trophy for being the "Highest Ranked Rookie Team" at the end of the competition.

Eastmoor Academy of Columbus was ranked third before the semifinals and their alliance finished 2nd in the competition making them a "Regional Finalist".

Rhodes High School was picked to be one of the semifinal alliances and finished 4th in the competition making them a quarterfinalist.

  • Team 382 - Eastmoor Academy of Columbus - Rank 3 - Average Points 215.8 - Highest Score 312
  • Team 695 - Beachwood High School - Rank 19 - Average Points 167 - Highest Score 328
  • Team 274 - Rhodes High School - Rank 52 - Average Points 97.8 - Highest Score 204
  • Team 541 - Max Hayes Vocational School - Rank 53 - Average Points 95.2 - Highest Score 192


Mobile Machine Shop

NASA Glenn Research Center also provided a mobile machine shop for FIRST participants to help them with emergency repairs to their robots.  The FIRST competition also needed the help of our machine shop to help them with a ball calibrator needed for the competition.

Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and completed 72 jobs
Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and completed 44 jobs
Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and completed 27 jobs

The machine shop was a huge success and appreciated by all teams!
