Measurements Group Meetings
SUBJECT: 23nd International Microgravity Measurements
Group Meeting Announcement
You are invited to attend the Microgravity Measurements Group (MGMG)
Meeting on April 6-8, 2005 at the Radisson Hotel Cleveland Airport in
North Olmsted, Ohio. The MGMG meetings are conducted by the Principal
Investigator Microgravity Services (PIMS) project at the NASA Glenn
Research Center. These meetings provide a forum for an exchange of information
and ideas about various aspects of reduced-gravity (including microgravity)
acceleration research in the NASA exploration program.
The format of this meeting will be a working meeting complemented with
presentations. The MGMG meetings in the past have focused on microgravity
conditions on Shuttle microgravity missions and on experiments manifested
on the International Space Station. The MGMG topics are expanding to
include reduced-gravity environments which will be experienced during
exploration missions to the Moon and Mars.
The topics for discussion will include:
- Comparison
of measured environment with predicted environment
- Correlation
of disturbance source with disturbance signature
- Impact
of crew exercise and other activities on environment
- ARIS-ICE
and ARIS performance
- Disturbances
by microgravity science experiments
- Quasi-steady,
vibratory, and reduced-gravity environments
- Ground
test data and initial correlation with on-orbit data
- Microgravity
constraints on payloads (self-generated)
- Operational
performance of SAMS, MAMS, and other accelerometer instruments
If
you have a presentation topic to suggest, please send a brief abstract
for our consideration. Please send an e-mail with
the title and the presenter's name
to MGMG@GRC.NASA.GOV.
We invite participation from investigators in all areas of reduced-gravity
(including microgravity) research, including system engineering teams, science
experiment
principal investigators and project scientists, numerical modelers, instrumentation
developers, vibration isolation developers, crew exploration vehicle developers,
International Space Station Program representatives, and acceleration data
analysts.
