Requesting the CARES Software:

Beta versions of the CARES software may be requested directly from the primary contact, Noel N. Nemeth. By requesting from the primary contact, you will receive:
  • the CARES software program
  • the CARES user's manual (printed and/or electronic version)
  • additional related documentation and technical literature
To request the CARES software, please include the following information on company or institution letterhead:
  • Name and mailing address
  • Organization and your title/affiliation
  • Phone and/or fax number and/or e-mail address
  • Desired Program (If you are interested in obtaining more than one program in the CARES series of software, a separate letter is required for each request.)
  • Indicate the computer platform, operating system, version number, and desired format for receiving the program files.
  • Indicate how and/or where you learned about the CARES software (i.e., on the WWW, technical literature, referred by another organization, etc.).
  • Cite examples of any past applications in which you (or others in your organization) have used CARES, if applicable.
  • Identify current application(s) in which you intend to use the CARES software and identify the specific brittle material components that you plan to design using this software, if possible. (We understand that some information and programs may be proprietary, but even a general description would be appreciated.)
  • Identify any appropriate funded programs if applicable.
  • Specify which finite element analysis program(s) you use for performing thermal and/or stress analyses. Also, indicate the version number(s).
  • Cite NASA and/or private industry cooperation, if applicable: consortium agreements, space act agreements, technology sharing opportunities, project consultation, exchanging experiences, etc.
