Measuring Velocity
Pitot-static tube - use Bernoulli's equation to compute velocity from measured pressure difference (DP).
DP = Ptotal - Pstatic
Bernoulli's Equation: DP = .5 * r * V^2
where r = 1 kg/m3 = density of air
Then:
V = sqrt( 2* DP /r )
Three-cup anemometer-- velocity is proportional to rotational speed of anemometer.
