Ozone
An unstable molecule consisting of three oxygen atoms. The layer of ozone in the stratosphere shields the Earth from damaging ultraviolet radiation. Some actions of man are releasing chemicals that are reaching the ozone layer and destroying ozone molecules. The consequences of ozone thinning are damaging to many Earth organisms.
