Vacuum Hot Press   The Durability and Protective Coatings Branch Vacuum Hot Press Facility consists of a user-friendly laboratory sized system designed and built by Oxy-gon Industries, Inc. It has a stainless steel chamber with hot-pressing capabilities at high temperatures and pressures.

Features/Capabilities:

• Maximum operating temperature: 2000 ^oC
• Chamber Pressure: 2.0 PSIG to 10^-7 PSIG
• Atmosphere: vacuum, inert gas or nitrogen, reducing gas such as 6% or less hydrogen in 94% argon or nitrogen
• Heat zone: 4" diameter x 8" high; Tungsten Mesh element
• Hydraulic System: rated for 5 ton pressing

Potential Uses: Annealing, diffusion bonding, chemical interface reaction studies, general heat treatments.
