In an industrial noise environment, sound leaks often occur when cable
trays and other irregularly shaped conduits penetrate partitions between
noisy and quit areas. A flexible "sleeve" attached to the partition can
be opened and resealed to allow cables and hoses to be repeatedly and
quickly changed out as needed.
Standardized Procedures for Sealing Cable Trays
1.    Reduce the size of the hole with brick and mortar as much as possible.
2.    Fill the remaining void to the full thickness of the wall with fiberglass         material or spray foam insulation.
3.    Cut an appropriate size of loaded vinyl to conform the cable tray. Second         layer of loaded vinyl may be needed depending on the situation.
4.    Wrap loaded vinal around cable tray. If possible, secure loaded vinyl to         wall by using metal bars.
5.    Secure the loaded vinyl with electrical tie-wraps.
