The Acoustical Testing Laboratory provides a comprehensive suite of educational services and resources for
professionals in the hearing conservation and low-noise design communities as well as the general public.
Many of ATL's services and products initially developed in support of NASA's manned space missions are
equally applicable to ground-based hearing conservation programs, both at NASA and in the wider hearing
conservation community. These resources include activity sheets for elementary and middle school students
on topics that include noise-induced hearing loss and acoustics, hearing conservation presentations,
workshops, and training courses for medical personnel and other hearing conservation program stakeholders,
and design guides and other resources related to industrial noise control and the promotion of a low-noise
workplace. In addition, the Acoustical Testing Laboratory develops and distributes a variety of
products as part of our educational outreach
program. These products, which are available free on request, are intended for use by occupational hearing
conservation professionals who have responsibilities as part of a comprehensive industrial hearing
conservation program.
